DEVELOPING EFL ONLINE GAME TEACHING MODULES BASED ON VOCABULARY IMPROVEMENT FOR 10TH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMKN 1 PURWOREJO IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023
Abstract
This study aims (1) to determine the validity of the developed teaching module, (2) to determine the practicality of the developed teaching module in accordance with the needs of students, and (3) to determine the effectiveness of the developed teaching module on improving students' vocabulary skills. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) model (ADDIE) method, namely: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation with procedures such as: (1) Analyzing the needs, (2) Designing the draft module, (3) Developing the draft module, (4) Implementing the module, (5) Conducting evaluation. Respondents consisted of expert lecturers, English teachers, and 36 10th grade students. Data collection techniques were observation, questionnaire, and test. Observation was used to explore the needs of teaching materials, student characters, and the curriculum used. Questionnaires were used to assess the validity and practicality of the product. Tests (pre-test and post-test) were used to test the effectiveness of the product. Based on fourth aspects of teaching module product validation, the average result is 4.083 with very good criteria (no revision needed). The analysis of the practicality of the learning module is based on the student response questionnaire with an average of 4.533 including very good criteria and can be declared practical. The effectiveness of the learning module is based on the percentage of completeness of learning objectives which initially only 13.88% improved to 91.66%. Therefore, the development of learning modules is declared valid, practical, and effective as teaching materials in learning Englis
