Literacy Education for Better Ranking in Global Competitiveness

Abstract


The application of high level of literacy in various levels of education sectors has the potential to lift productivity and competitiveness of a nation. To produce a nation workforce with high-level skills and research for innovation and growth, a country must first embracean appropriate level of literacy education in all sectors of education including higher education. This paper discusses the importance of embracing an appropriateliteracy education framework for betterproductivity and competitiveness of a nation. Thepaper informs the need to applyhigh-level of literacy educationin various levels of education sectors. The paper concludes that the literacy leveltargeted by a nationimpacted the productivity and competitiveness of the country.
