Abstract

This research aims to conduct a systematic review of literature comparing Problem Solving learning models and project-based learning methods in the context of their influence on students' mathematics learning motivation and critical thinking abilities. The Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method is used to collect and analyze relevant studies from various academic sources. The results of this review show that both the Problem Solving learning model and the project-based learning method have a positive impact on students' mathematics learning motivation and critical thinking abilities. However, there are differences in the level of effectiveness and approach of each model. The Problem Solving learning model places more emphasis on solving problems individually or in small groups which improves analytical and logical skills. On the other hand, project-based learning methods focus more on collaborative work and practical applications relevant to the real world, which strengthens critical thinking skills through hands-on experience. This study concludes that the choice of learning model must be adjusted to the specific learning objectives and student characteristics to achieve optimal results.
