ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN TARUNA AKADEMI MARITIM NUSANTARA DALAM MEMAHAMI KONSEP DIFERENSIAL INTEGRAL

Abstract

The ability to understand differentials and integrals in Mathematics courses is important for cadets. This understanding will later be used in the resolution of the problems related to ship engineering and shipbuilding techniques. The purpose of this study was to analyze differences in integral differential abilities based on regional origin and origin of education, vocational  high school and high school The objectives of this study are (1) To produce a profile of the ability of the Maritime Academy cadets in understanding the concepts of differential calculus, and (2) to produce a profile of the abilities bas  on education background and . The subjects of this study were mathematics and mathematics education students who had studied integral calculus, and were in the same semester. This type of research is observational with a cross-sectional approach.

The main data collection of this study was obtained using Interview techniques. In addition, there are supporting data which are the results of written work of research subjects (SP) in understanding integral calculus questions. The results of this study are as follows: the influence of differential and integral maritime academy cadets is influenced by the educational background and origin of cadets.
