KRISTALOGRAFI BIDANG DATAR DALAM KAIN TENUN MASYARAKAT MANGGARAI
Abstract
Manggarai has cultural diversity. One of the cultural diversity is Manggarai Woven Cloth. In fact, the motif of Manggarai Woven Fabrics is a legacy of ancestors who have been tried to be preserved. In this paper, the researchers discuss six motives of woven fabric, namely Jok, Wela Kawong, Ranggong, Ntala, Runu, Jok, and Su'i. Manggarai Woven Cloth motif can serve as a recognition of the origin of someone who is wearing the cloth. Manggarai woven fabrics are also commonly used as custom rites, such as traditional ceremonies, guest pick-ups, marriages, and dances. The study aims to describe the relationship of Manggarai Woven Cloth motives to Mathematics, and to describe the crystallography of symmetrical group pattern contained in the Manggarai Woven fabric motives. The method which is used in this research is a descriptive literature research.
