DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNING DEVICES ON SUBJECT THE SET THROUGH REALISTIC MATHEMATICS EDUCATION

Abstract


This research is a research and development learning package on the Set material through the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach. The purpose of the research is to produce a valid, practical and effective learning device.The intended learning package is in this study is a follows: lesson planss, student activity sheets, and learning outcomes tests. The development process of learning package employed 4-D model based on Thiagarajan which consist of 4 phases, namely (1) defining stage, (2) design stage, (3) development stage, (4) deployment stager,and dissemination stage. The learning package developed through the Realistic Mathematics Education approach were validated by two experts produced, in the form of: a learning implementation plan, student activity sheets, and a test of learning outcomes that were declared valid and worth testing. The test conducted to grade VII.2 at SMP Negeri 2 Amahai with the total of 27 students. From the results of the analysis of the feasibility of the learning device it was found that : (1) the ability of teachers to manage learning is good, (2) student activity in learning is effective, (3) student's response to learning devices is positive, (4) test result learning device meet valid and reliable criteria, and (5) mastery of student learning is complete. Therefore, the Set learning package with Realistic Mathematics is valid, practical, and effective.
