INTEGRASI PASAR CABAI MERAH KERITING DI KABUPATEN KULON PROGO

Abstract


Kulon Progo is one of the regencies producing curly red chili in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. In 2015 most of the production of curly red chili in the Special Region of Yogyakarta was produced by Kulon Progo Regency namely 168.280 Cuintal or 71.95% of the total production. This research aims to find out how the development of curly red chili production in Kulon Progo Regency, how the price behavior of curly red chili at producers and consumers level as well as how the integration of curly red chili market in producers’ markets and consumer markets. The method used in the study is a descriptive analysis with the Index Market of Connection (IMC) approach. The Data used is secondary to the related institution, the Agriculture Service of Kulon Progo Regency. The results showed, the production of curly red chili tends to fluctuate monthly. The second result, the price behavior of curly red chili in the producer market and the consumer market shows the same movement pattern, that is when prices in the consumer market rises then in the producer's market also rises. The third result, IMC value is smaller than one that is 0.96 meaning the degree of market integration of curly red chili between theproducers market and the consumer market in the short term is classified as strong. Indicating that, the consumer market transmits information about the change in prices of curly red chili to the manufacturer market quickly.
