Abstract
This research aims to identify whether the use of interactive video voice command technology through
scientific approach can enhance students’ listening proficiency, and to describe the class situation
when the interactive technology is used in the teaching learning process of listening proficiency in the
class. The research was conducted at SMAN 1 Purwareja Klampok, Banjarnegara Regency. The
subject was the grade X-2 of social science program consisted of 34 students in the second semester of
2015/ 2016 academic year. The research belonged to classroom action research with two cycles in
which each cycle has three meetings. The result of the research shows that (1) interactive video voice
command technology through scientific approach could enhance students’ listening proficiency in
term of raising students’ achievement. The mean score was enhanced from 70.19 in the pre test
became 76.67 for post test in cycle 1 and 81.04 for the last post test in cycle 2. Then, (2) the
interactive video voice command technology through scientific approach could enhance class situation
in term of (a) the students’ attention that makes them concentrate on the lesson, (b) their participation
and interaction when having and responding teacher’s questions, and (c) the motivation to join the
teaching and learning process in the class.
