THE IMPLEMENTATION OF INNOVATIVE AND CREATIVE MODEL IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING (A Study Conducted in SD Secang 1 Magelang Regency)

This study facuses on the implementation of innovative and creative model in teaching
English to young learners. The subject of this study is the fourth grade students of SD
Secang 1 in the school year of 2015/2016. Following Creswell’s theory (2009), this
sequential exploratory mixed method research aims at investigating the influence of
implementing creative and innovative model towards the students’ learning motivation and
whether or not there is significant difference of the English mastery of the students of SD
Negeri Secang 1 in the school year of 2015/2016 before and after the implementation of
creative and innovative model in English Language Teaching. Based on the data analysis, it
shows that by implementing this model, the students have good motivation in joining the
teaching-learning activities of English class. In addtition to that, there is significant difference
of the students’ English mastery before and after the implementation of creative and
innovative model.
