ACTIVATING THE DESIRE TO LEARN

Abstract

ABSTRACT
English teachers often complain that their students have difficulty in learning English.
They have tried hard to teach English, and yet, it is very difficult for students to master
English. They say that the students seem to have low motivation in learning English.
They do not have the desire to learn. To solve this problem, teachers need to teach in
such a way that the students have the desire to learn. It is not enough to teach the
materials. This paper tries to explore the reason why it is important to activate their
desire to learn, ways to activate the students’ desire to learn, and the advantages when
the students have the desire to learn.
